BLANCPAIN RACE WEEKEND, ROUND 2, SILVERSTONE (UK)

Silverstone, June 2nd 2013

With the sun shining magnificently, this weekend saw the second round of the Blancpain Race Weekend 2013 which took place at the world-renowned Silverstone race track. More than 150 guests gathered to enjoy and appreciate the world of both mechanical watchmaking and mechanical automobiles while the Blancpain Endurance Series and Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo were taking place. VIP’s, journalists and retailers were invited to follow the Lamborghini 24, from Blancpain Racing, during the Blancpain Endurance Series.

The weekend began promisingly for the Blancpain Racing Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 as it showed
power and well balanced handling around the famous British Grand Prix venue. Qualifying saw Marc
A. Hayek – President and CEO of Blancpain and team mate Peter Kox line up in 4th place en PRO-AM
and 15th overall on the grid of Blancpain Endurance Series.

Confidence and spirit was high in the Blancpain Racing team as Marc A. Hayek took the start of the
race. However, hopes were dashed when another competitor collided with the Lamborghini and
despite the best efforts of the well-drilled team, repairs could not be made for a return to the action.
Taking a popular home victory at Silverstone was the locally based Aston Martin Racing team. In the
PRO-AM class, the Nissan GT Academy car took the victory while in the Gentlemen’s Trophy class,
ARC Bratislava took the trophies.

Regarding the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, in the first of a pair of live webcast races,
Autovitesse’s Cédric Leimer was restored to his winning ways after the temporary absence from the
top step of the podium in Misano. His win was achieved courtesy of the unfortunate Andrea Amici
who dominated proceedings before a late puncture dropped him down the order. Second place was
secured by Adrian Zaugg & team-mate Federico de Nora.

In the second race on Sunday, although a red flag halted proceedings for a good while, Imperiale
driver Andrea Amici made up for his misfortunes on Saturday by driving from the back of the field to
take an impressive win – pursued by Leimer, but after also suffering a puncture in race one, Leonardo
Geraci was another to set the form book straight by finishing 3rd from 14th on the grid.

The next Blancpain Race Weekend is on the 29-30 June at Paul Ricard in the South of France.
